Yoga Teacher Training

Yoga Teacher Training at the University of Utah

PEAK Academy enthusiastically offers it's new 258 hour Yoga Alliance RYT Yoga Teacher Training and certification program. Each student will be able to register with the Yoga Alliance and be nationally recognized upon completion.

The intention of this yoga teacher training program is to offer a fundamental education within an academic setting exploring the movement and principles of yoga. As yoga permeates deeper into western culture it is important to support both philosophical aspects and movement integrity through thoughtful application and understanding.

Each student will have an opportunity to teach classes with instructor observation and feedback for a minimum of 10 hours during the training. The University will offer internships for students who have completed the full training and who are interested in gaining more teaching practice.

Type of Yoga: Astanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative

Description of Style: We emphasize the Astanga element to pattern practices and asana sequences in a way that readies the body/mind/spirit for each consecutive element of the practice. The Vinyasa element emphasizes the importance of breath and moving with breath. Iyengar method of Hatha is used to specifically align the body and mind. Restorative invites the body/mind/spirit back into balance.
