A Day in Health Sciences

A Day in the Health Sciences is an annual program presented to junior high school students one Saturday each year. Approximately 100 students participate each year from schools across the state of Utah. Students participate in interactive workshops featuring activities in each of the Health Sciences programs at the University of Utah. A session is held for parents to learn about University of Utah Admissions and Financial Aid. Parents also receive a tour of the hospital and attend several of the sessions with their students. Professionals, students, and staff members from the Colleges of Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, the School of Medicine, the Physician Assistant Program, and the Genetic Science Learning Center provide educational activities for this event.

Students who are from ethnic minority groups, students from rural communities, and students who are educationally, socially, or financially disadvantaged are encouraged to participate in A Day in the Health Sciences.
