Beth Cardell

Occupational Profile

Beth was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania. She came to Utah accidently as a traveling therapist and after several moves around the country she decided to return to the friends and outdoor life she met in Utah. Once back in Utah she was introduced to Tracy Timothy, and was married 2 years later.

The focus of Beth's clinical practice has been mainly in the treatment of adults with neurological injuries. For most of her career she has worked in community based practice and has a specific interest in people with acquired brain injury and the affects chronic disabilities have on participation.

After many years as a clinician Beth found her passion for teaching by volunteering at the U's program during the first year. After a few years of balancing clinical work and teaching, Beth took a full time faculty position and became a student herself.

Although Beth has several leisure interests (camping, hiking, traveling, and cooking) she spends most her of time busy being a PhD student in the Health Promotion and Education Department. Any spare time is spent trying to fit in exercise for her and her two dogs- Zoey (yellow lab) and Greta (German short haired). Jabbie, Beth's cat, "helps" with homework by sitting on Beth's papers and adding text to her documents.

Beth is involved in community service including the Board of Executive Directors for the Brain Injury Association of Utah, Member of the Task Force for Veterans with Brain Injury, and facilitator of a social support group for adults with acquired brain injury.
