Scholarships
The Division of Nutrition at the University of Utah awards scholarships on a competitive basis to currently enrolled students in the program.
Fellowships & Scholarships for 1st year Students
All accepted students are automatically considered (on a competitive basis) forthe following scholarships:
The Askew Chairs Scholarship
This Scholarship is selected by the Chair of the Division of Nutrition. The recipient will assist the Chair on some aspect of teaching or research during the semester it is awarded.
The Gordon and Betty Browning Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to deserving students in need of financial assistance who excel academically.
The Margaret B. Davis Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a nutrition student based on financial need and academic achievement.
The Mildred D. "Millie" and Wilford W. Hagen Scholarship
Scholarships shall only be awarded to deserving students in need of financial assistance and who have excelled academically with priority given to those students who intend to teach Nutrition in the public school system or higher education.
The Scholarship Fund will enable students to pursue an education in Nutrition enabling them to become teachers like her herself, and will pay tribute to Millie and Wilford for their generosity and kindness and selfless way of life.
The Donald B. Hutchinson Scholarship
The Hutchinson Scholarship is awarded to a deserving student in need of financial assistance who has excelled academically.
The Anna M. Jacobsen Scholarship
This scholarship shall be awarded to a deserving student in need of financial assistance who has excelled academically.
Fellowships & Scholarships for Continuing Students
Continuing students are eligible to receive (on a competitive basis) the following scholarships:
The Constance J. Geiger Scholarship
Continuing graduate students in the Division of Nutrition with a grade point average of 3.3 or higher are eligible. The award is given to a student who is currently completing a thesis research project and who has demonstrated involvement in the field of nutrition.
The Maurine N. Hegsted Scholarship
Continuing Graduate students in the Division of Nutrition with a grade point average of 3.2 or higher are eligible. Award priority will be given to students with demonstrated involvement and service in the community and/or the Division.
The Barbara Mathis Prater Scholarship
Continuing Graduate students in the Division of Nutrition with a grade point average of 3.3 or higher. The Award priority is given to students with demonstrated involvement and service in the community, particularly in the area of diabetes. Demonstrated potential for making a contribution to the field of nutrition and diabetes, having a personal commitment to helping young people with diabetes, an interest in diabetes and nutrition research, and an involvement in the professional organizations so related.
Mitsui USA/Cornerstone Scholarships
The Mitsui Scholarship is designed to provide financial support to sports dietetics students during the second year of their program. Two $5,000 scholarships are awarded annually to support students in the sports dietetics emphasis within the Coordinated Master's Program in Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics. One scholarship is for a student with a dietary supplement interest and one scholarship is awarded to a student with a community nutrition interest. The awards are based upon stated career goals, grade point average, and community service.

Donations
Donations may be made to Division Scholarships at any time. In a letter, please indicate which scholarship you wish your donation to be made. Mail your contributions to the Division of Nutrition, 250 South 1850 East, #214, Salt Lake City, Utah 84112.
