Welcome to The Department of Health Promotion and Education

Mission

The mission of the Department of Health Promotion and Education is to discover, refine and facilitate the practical application of strategies that can assist individuals, communities and societies in adopting and maintaining healthy actions.

The faculty are committed to the integration of teaching, research and service into an inclusive process of planning, implementing, and evaluating successful health education policies, environs and practices. Our focus is on community and family based positive health promotion.

Opportunities

The Health Promotion and Education Department is one of seven departments/divisions in the College of Health at the University of Utah.

We offer an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree with specialties in community health, emergency medical services, consumer health, school health, and provider health.

Our graduate program includes a Master of Science degree, and a Doctoral degree.
