Student Advisory Committee
What is SAC?
Student Advisory Committees are student groups established within departments to promote communication and interaction among students, faculty and administrators.
When was SAC created?
SAC was created in 1969 by the Academic Senate.
Why SAC?
To provide students with more opportunities to offer input at the departmental level.
What do SAC members do?
Evaluate faculty teaching for the Retention, Promotion and Tenure (RPT) process.
Promote academic and social activities within ESS.
Encourage collaboration with other student organizations.
Help with the administration of the course evaluation process
Facilitate building community within the department and at the University
Distribute information to ESS students
Assist with planning of the Annual ESS Awards Ceremony
