Eating Disorder Research Team
Description: The eating disorder research team includes advanced undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in investigating disordered eating and body image concerns. The interdisciplinary group currently consists of members from exercise and sport science, public health, nutrition, and sport psychology.
Objectives:
- Provide an avenue for students to have research opportunities in the eating disorder realm. The group is working with Dr. Reel on ongoing projects, as well as creating a group project based on the team interests (e.g., eating disorders among children; body image issues for males).
- Community outreach for prevention of eating disorders. The team is in the process of developing a template to use for presentations and workshops at schools, community centers, and eating disorder awareness week.
