Background
Dr. Chapman received her BS and MS degrees from Texas Tech University and her PhD from Purdue University. She came to the University of Utah in 1999 from Case Western Reserve University where she held a faculty position since 1985. Dr. Chapman’s areas of specialization include child language development and disorders, language and speech sound disorders in children with cleft palate, and non-biased assessment. Dr. Chapman teaches graduate courses in articulation and phonological disorders, cleft palate and craniofacial disorders, and research methods. Her current research focuses primarily on language and phonological development in babies and young children with cleft palate.
