There is more to a grant than writing. You will need to scan in documents, develop diagrams and charts, and cite references through-out the document.

Identify Needed Software

You can purchase Acrobat Adobe Writer to allow you to create PDF formatted documents, there are applications that help you with citations, and many other software applications that can help you in writing your grant. You will want to determine what you will need. Your Department or Division might have some software licenses available. Check with your department administrator. Identify Needed Software

Identify Needed Equipment

As more grant processes move to an electronic format there is less copying, collating, and preparing for the Principle Investigator. Until they are all electronic you will need to determine your needs. Do you have access to a copy machine? What if you need to scan in a document? When it is time to mail your proposal where will go and what are those "hours." Thinking this through ahead of time can save time and frustration. Identify Needed Equipment
