About Us
"... A nationally and internationally recognized center for learning, discovery, application, integration, and dissemination of knowledge related to health."
The College of Health is a major academic unit on the University of Utah campus. Evolving from an initial 1868 course in hygiene, the College is currently one of the largest at the University of Utah and serves approximately 1900 undergraduate and graduate students.
Interest in physical health was the catalyst for the development of many of the disciplines that over the decades have made up the divisions, departments, and schools that currently comprise the College of Health.
From the early course offerings in Physical Culture, taught by Maud May Babcock in 1892, has grown an interesting and diverse College which offers a broad scope of educational opportunities, valuable contributions in scholarship and research, and the application of knowledge and service within and beyond the academic community.
The College of Health reaches and benefits people of all ages and circumstances. Professionals educated in the College of Health work as a team to make a difference in the lives of individuals. This is a College with a proud tradition and a promising future.
